Terms of use
Last updated: 19 October 2026
These terms apply whenever you use Longreach Local, whether you are browsing the directory, sending an enquiry, listing a business or taking a paid plan. By using the site you accept them. Our privacy policy sits alongside these terms and explains how personal information is handled.
Who we are
Longreach Local is operated by Nicholas John Sharp (ABN 42 521 587 266), a sole trader in Queensland, Australia. Questions about these terms can go through the contact page.
Using the site
- Use it lawfully and honestly. Do not submit fake, misleading, duplicate or defamatory listings, events or messages.
- Do not try to reach another business's records, interfere with the site, or use automated tools to harvest listing or contact data.
- Keep your account details secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your sign-in.
- You must be at least 18 to hold a business account or take a paid plan.
Listings and what we publish
Businesses are responsible for the accuracy of their own listing details, opening hours, prices and promotions. Listings are reviewed before publication, and we may edit, suspend or remove anything that is misleading, out of date, offensive or in breach of these terms. Being listed is not an endorsement by us, and we are not a party to any deal, booking or dispute between a resident and a business.
Where you submit content — listing text, photos, an event, a deal — you keep ownership of it and grant us a licence to display, reproduce and link to it for the purpose of running the directory. Only submit material you have the right to use, including images.
Listings marked "Demo" are fictional examples included while the directory is being built. They are not real businesses and their contact details are invented. They are labelled wherever they appear and are excluded from search results.
Enquiries and events
Enquiry forms pass your message to the business you selected; they do not create a booking or obligation on either side. Event and deal information is supplied by organisers, businesses and our own review of public sources. Details can change after publication — check the source link before you travel or book, and tell us about anything that has moved or been cancelled.
Paid plans
Plans are: Free (no charge), Plus AUD $9 a month, Premium AUD $29 a month, and Sponsor AUD $59 a month. All prices are in Australian dollars. Longreach Local is not currently registered for GST, so no GST is added to these prices. A plan is a monthly subscription billed in advance and renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Paid features (photos, promotions, featured and sponsored placement) only switch on once payment is confirmed by our payment provider.
- Card details are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store them.
- You can cancel any time from your dashboard. Your plan continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, then reverts to Free.
- If you delete your listing, the paid plan is closed straight away; no further billing occurs after that.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period. Upgrading to a higher plan uses a new checkout.
- If a payment fails, we retry and give you a chance to update your payment method before the plan lapses.
- Prices may change. If they do, we will tell you before the change affects you, and you can cancel rather than accept it.
Paid placements are always labelled "Sponsored" or "Advertiser" so readers can tell advertising from an ordinary listing.
Money back
Because a plan is a service delivered over the month you pay for, we do not automatically refund part of a period you have already used. If something is wrong — a double charge, a feature that does not work, a plan you did not mean to take — tell us through the contact page and we will put it right, including with a refund where that is the fair fix. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded.
Responsibility
We aim to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we do not guarantee the conduct of any business listed. To the extent the law allows, our liability for anything arising from use of the site is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding what you paid us.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site grows. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after an update means you accept it. If a change is significant and you have a paid plan, we will contact you before it applies to your next billing cycle.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia, and any dispute will be dealt with there.
